Cure Brain Cancer Foundation
In January 2018, I tragically lost my husband, Michael, to brain cancer. Left behind were myself and our two daughters, who were just 8 months and 4 years old at that time. Michael’s battle with this devastating illness began in October 2013, a mere two months before our first daughter was born. His journey from diagnosis to his passing took less than five years, and it was an incredibly challenging and painful experience.
Yet, our story is all too common when it comes to brain cancer. Only 20% of those diagnosed with this relentless disease survive beyond five years. Brain cancer is not only emotionally taxing but also financially burdensome on the patients and family, its also has one of the lowest levels of government funding for research among all cancers.
Why
give a percentage of proceeds?
In the wake of Michael’s passing and as my daughters and I navigated the difficult path of grief, I felt a profound desire to make a difference, to work towards preventing others from enduring the heartache we endured. It was this deep-seated motivation that led me to establish Pennywise Designs, providing for my family’s needs while offering the flexibility required for my children. My hope is that through Pennywise Designs, I can contribute to the fight against brain cancer and work towards finding a cure for this devastating disease.
